Eligibility to Use the Studio
Jaxo is made available to individuals who can enter into a binding arrangement under applicable laws. By accessing the application, you represent that you possess the legal capacity required in your jurisdiction to accept the terms in this document on your own behalf, or that you have obtained necessary authorization from a parent, guardian, or institutional administrator where such capacity is not yet reached.
The application is not offered to any individual who has previously been advised in writing by the Jaxo team to discontinue use, or to any person barred from receiving the application under the laws of the relevant jurisdiction.
Features described in this document are offered where technically feasible. Regional platform distribution limitations or local regulatory requirements may affect the availability of specific functions in certain territories.
License Scope & Permission Grant
Subject to your continued adherence to the conditions in this document, the Jaxo team grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable permission to install, launch, and interact with a copy of the application on a compatible device that you lawfully control, solely for the purpose of conducting creative video finishing activities contemplated by the feature set.
What This Permits You to Do
- Import video clips you hold rights to, into the cropping and finishing workspace.
- Apply dynamic progress indicators, chapter markers, and follow-along stickers within your personal or professional creative projects.
- Render completed clips to your device library and distribute, publish, or share the output in accordance with your own judgment and the rights you hold in the underlying materials.
What Falls Outside the License
- Redistributing the application binary, its constituent code, or modified derivatives to third parties.
- Using the application as part of a service bureau, outsourcing facility, automated pipeline, or multi-user environment accessed by parties other than yourself, unless explicitly authorized in writing.
- Removing, obscuring, or altering any legal, attitudinal, or proprietary markings embedded within the application interface or its output metadata.
Feature Usage Guidelines
Jaxo provides a focused set of creative finishing tools. Each tool is designed with specific creative intent in mind. The following guidance describes the expected manner of interaction.
Cropping & Aspect Tools
The frame cropping tool allows you to reframe footage to standard and custom aspect ratios. You are responsible for ensuring that any reformatting of third-party material is done with the consent of the rights holder, and that compositions created do not infringe upon the moral rights of original creators where recognized.
Progress Indicator & Sticker Layers
Animated progress overlays and playback-synchronized stickers are provided for visual pacing and section highlighting purposes. You retain discretion over placement, color, timing, and style, and you accept responsibility for ensuring final rendered output does not include misleading timed annotations.
Chapter Boundary Markers
Chapter markers define temporal sections for navigation. You may use any naming convention you prefer. Marker names and descriptions should accurately reflect underlying content and should not be used to misrepresent the nature of the work to downstream viewers.
One-Tap Render to Library
The render pipeline writes completed files to your device media library per standard system dialogs. Render presets affect final file size and visual fidelity. You are responsible for verifying output quality before public distribution of any rendered work product.
Restricted Actions
In the course of using Jaxo, you agree that you will not engage in any of the following categories of conduct.
Works You Create & Their Responsibility
Jaxo does not assert ownership, editorial control, or screening authority over footage you import, edits you apply, or final clips you render and distribute. The entire burden for the lawfulness, accuracy, and appropriateness of materials you process and publish rests with you as the creative decision-maker.
By importing footage into the application, you warrant that you hold all necessary rights, clearances, and permissions required to edit, modify, render, and distribute the resulting output. This includes, where relevant, performance rights, synchronization rights, moral rights waivers, talent releases, location permits, and any consents required under applicable data protection frameworks for depictions of identifiable individuals.
Jaxo does not conduct pre-publication review of rendered output. You should independently verify that each finished clip complies with platform rules, community guidelines, and applicable laws prior to upload or distribution.
Third-Party Materials & References
The application may include references to, or interoperate with, technologies, libraries, codecs, fonts, color spaces, and media frameworks developed and maintained by entities other than the Jaxo team. Such third-party components are provided under their respective governing terms and licensing conditions.
Open Source Components
Acknowledgments for open-source libraries incorporated within Jaxo may be found in the credits or about panel within the application settings. You acknowledge that the availability, performance, and continued functionality of third-party components are subject to change and outside the direct control of the Jaxo team.
External Media Framework Behavior
Jaxo writes output to the standard device media framework using system-provided interfaces. Behavior of the media framework, including storage location, metadata handling, and deletion logic, is determined by the host operating system vendor and is outside the scope of these terms.
Ownership & Intellectual Property
All right, title, and interest in and to the Jaxo application, including its visual interface, iconography, naming, workflow structure, rendering pipeline design, documentation, and all modifications and derivative works thereof, remain the exclusive property of the Jaxo team and its contributors.
Nothing in this document should be interpreted as transferring ownership of any intellectual property right except the narrow license grant explicitly stated above. The distinctive visual appearance of the Jaxo interface, including the crop inspector, progress overlay editor, and chapter marker interface, are protected under applicable laws.
With respect to the output you create: as between you and the Jaxo team, you retain all right, title, and interest in and to the original footage you import, the creative edit decisions you make, and the rendered video files you export.
Service Evolution & Modification
Creative tools evolve to match changing hardware, codecs, and distribution formats. The Jaxo team reserves the right to modify, discontinue, add, or refine any feature, rendering preset, export capability, or interface element at any time, with or without prior individual notice.
Version Compatibility
Draft project files saved in one version of Jaxo may not be fully readable by earlier or later versions. You are encouraged to render completed work to a standard video format for long-term preservation rather than relying solely on proprietary draft project containers.
Discretionary Changes
Any new capabilities that materially expand the scope of your rights or obligations under this document will be presented to you on your next application launch for explicit acknowledgment where required by applicable laws.
Inherent Risk Notice
You acknowledge that creative finishing and rendering involve technical processes that may not operate without interruption or without imperfection. Factors including but not limited to device memory pressure, thermal conditions, codec variations, source file corruption, and disk availability can all affect the rendering process.
- Rendered output may contain visual artifacts not present in preview.
- Long-form projects may require repeated render passes to achieve expected fidelity.
- Editing decisions should be confirmed against final rendered output, not solely preview thumbnails.
- Battery state, available storage, and background processes may cause renders to pause, slow, or terminate without warning.
It is your responsibility to maintain adequate backups of source materials prior to editing, and to verify the correctness of each rendered file before relying on it for time-sensitive or critical purposes.
Liability Boundaries
Jaxo is provided to you on an "AS AVAILABLE" and "AS IS" basis without express warranties of any kind, whether oral, written, statutory, or otherwise. The Jaxo team disclaims, to the fullest extent permitted under applicable laws, all warranties, conditions, representations, and endorsements of any nature, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular creative purpose, title, non-infringement, and uninterrupted operation.
Scope of Responsibility
Under no circumstances and under no legal theory shall the Jaxo team, its contributors, suppliers, or distribution channels be liable to you or to any third party for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss or damage of any character arising from your use of or inability to use the application, including without limitation loss of creative work product, loss of data, loss of revenue, loss of business opportunity, or any loss of goodwill, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
In jurisdictions that do not permit the exclusion or limitation of certain categories of liability, the total cumulative liability of the Jaxo team for any claim arising out of or related to this document or your use of the application, regardless of the form of action, shall not exceed the aggregate consideration actually paid by you for the application itself, if any, during the period immediately preceding the date on which the claim arose.
Ending Your Use of the Studio
Because Jaxo does not operate a credentialed user system, ending your use of the application requires no formal notice, no cancellation request, and no account closure procedure. You may discontinue use at any time by removing the application from your device.
Removal Consequences
Uninstalling Jaxo from your device will remove locally stored draft projects, preference settings, and cached preview thumbnails associated with the application, subject to the behavior of your host operating system. Rendered output written to your device media library will remain unaffected unless you take separate action to delete it.
Suspension Right
The Jaxo team reserves the right, where it reasonably believes a violation of these terms has occurred, to cease distribution of the application to a specific device or individual through available distribution platform mechanisms. Any such exercise will not relieve you of obligations incurred prior to the point of cessation.
The following provisions survive the termination of your use of Jaxo: intellectual property ownership, liability boundaries, your responsibility for works you created, restricted actions, and dispute handling.
Dispute Handling & Applicable Framework
Any disagreement, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this document, its breach, interpretation, or your use of Jaxo shall be handled in good faith in accordance with applicable laws and relevant regulatory requirements.
Before initiating any formal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve the matter through direct correspondence. Both parties will engage in reasonable efforts to reach an amicable resolution through written exchange. If a mutually acceptable resolution is not reached within a reasonable period after written notice is provided, the matter may be submitted to competent dispute resolution bodies as permitted or required under applicable laws.
Each provision of this document operates independently. If any term or condition is determined unenforceable under applicable laws, the remaining terms and conditions will remain in full force and effect to the maximum extent permissible.
Correspondence & Term Modifications
Questions regarding these terms, reports of suspected violations, or any other formal communication relating to the conditions of use should be directed to the dedicated channel listed below. The Jaxo team will review and respond to substantive communications within a reasonable timeframe.
